Understanding the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework

After reading the latest TPACK newsletterDerek Wenmoth shared the following thoughts and resources which focus on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework. The resources itself, Derek suggests, "is most likely to be of interest to those who are involved in facilitation and work directly with schools". He goes on to say that:

The TPACK framework has been around for a while now....however, my experience in schools has been that  while some refer to the framework from time to time, there isn't a deep understanding of the significance of it for informing our conceptual understandings of how we integrate technology into our educative practice, nor about the deeper pedagogical understandings that stem from this.
For a bit of background to the TPACK framework their main site has plenty of information -
So - if you have some time over the up-coming holiday break, I too, would highly recommend dipping into the newsletters and the site. You will need to register to access some of the resources and to take part in the conversations (mainly because of issues with spammers on the old TPACK site), but registration is free. You can also sign up to receive the newsletter.

The web we weave... I had just come across TPACK in ePortfolio as a measure of reflective practice where "ePortfolios examples and practices are exemplified and discussed within the pedagogical content knowing and technological pedagogical content knowledge frameworks"

"ePortfolio goes beyond simply collecting and storing artifacts toward leveraging digital technologies’ potential to make unique linkages, connections, and reflections among multiple experiences and artifacts in ways that would not otherwise be possible with a traditional paper portfolio."
Thank you Hazel for bringing my attention to it here also.
